The first football team of Al-Ahly club performed its training session this evening at Al-Teach Stadium, in preparation for facing the National Guard, the champion of Niger, to be held on October 16, in the first leg of the 32nd round of the African Champions League.
Before the start of the training, Pitso Mosimane, coach of the team, was keen to hold a theoretical lecture with the players to talk about the challenges of the next stage.
The training included a physical aspect under the supervision of Capello, the scheme of the loads, then the technical staff conducted a division along the field with the participation of two guards, and Musimani was keen to talk with the players to implement the tactical aspect during the ball exercises and correct mistakes.
Strong training for the guards
Al-Ahly goalkeepers underwent intense training under the supervision of Yancon Michel, the team’s goalkeeper coach.
Musimani was keen to hold a session with his assistant staff on the sidelines of Al-Ahly’s training session, to find out the final vision of the training program and all matters related to the technical and administrative aspects to prepare for the next stage that precedes travel to Niger.
Today’s training witnessed the participation of South African Percy Tau in part of the group training for the first time, after recovering from the injury he suffered during his participation with the South African team early last month.
The medical staff confirmed that Percy Tao will participate in the training in a gradual manner, after he recovered from a rupture of the connective muscle that he suffered and kept him out of the team for the last period.
Shahat and Afshah
Hussein Al-Shahat also participated in group exercises after recovering from stress in the connective muscle, and the club’s medical staff was keen to give the player enough time to recover from the injury, and Mohamed Magdy Afsha also participated in the training based on his desire.
Comfort for “Mohamed Sharif”
Al-Ahly’s technical staff decided to give Mohamed Sharif, the team’s player, a rest of 3 days of group training, after he was left out of the national team’s squad that is playing the two matches against Libya in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.
It is noteworthy that Al-Ahly played a friendly match against the El-Ghaba team last week at the Al-Teach Stadium on the island, and won it with seven goals without return, in preparation for the next stage.
