Al-Ahly of Egypt was crowned champion of the African Champions League for the tenth time in its history and the second in a row, by defeating Kaizer Chiefs of South Africa 3-0 in the final match in Casablanca.
The goals of Al-Ahly were scored by Mohamed Sharif (53) and Mohamed Magdy.reveal it(64) and Amr Al-Sulayya (74).
Newspapers praise Al-Ahly
And the British “Sky Sports” website wrote: “Al-Ahly of Egypt achieves the African Champions League and extends its record with the tenth title.”
Likewise, the British “BBC” website focused on the “Al-Ahly record”, putting a result of “3-0” in the title, referring to the record and the “African crown”.
As for the famous “FourFourTwo” magazine, it focused on Al-Ahly coach Pitso Mosimane, where it wrote: “Al-Ahly Pitso beat the Chiefs in the CAF Champions League final.”
And the global “Goal” website wrote: “Al-Ahly destroys Chiefs and snatches the African Champions League title.”
The famous Italian newspaper, La Gazzetta dello Sport, focused on Al-Ahly’s “tenth” title: “The tenth reaches Al-Ahly… Kaizer Chiefs immersed themselves in the African Champions League final.”
As for the Spanish “Mundo Deportivo” website, he wrote: “3-0 .. Al-Ahly belongs to Africa again.”
Chelsea is waiting for Al-Ahly
As for Chelsea, the champion of the European Champions League, he congratulated Al-Ahly on the achievement, looking forward to their participation together in the Club World Cup.
And the official Chelsea account wrote: “Africa is decorated in red, as Europe is decorated with blue. Congratulations to the Egyptian Al-Ahly Club, see you in the Club World Cup.”
Several clubs also congratulated Al-Ahly club on the achievement, including the English club Manchester City, Juventus and Roma, the Italians.
The FIFA website also congratulated Al-Ahly on the achievement, noting that FIFA “is eager to welcome Al-Ahly to the FIFA Club World Cup.”
Zamalek withdraw congratulations
As for Al-Ahly’s first rival, the Egyptian club Zamalek, it published a statement congratulating Al-Ahly after winning the African title.
But, quite strangely, Zamalek withdrew the congratulations from its accounts, and published a statement confirming the withdrawal of the congratulations, due to the lack of professionalism of some of Al-Ahly’s pages in dealing with the news of the congratulations.
