The Israeli Army Radio announced, officially, that two settlers were killed, this Sunday afternoon, as a result of a shooting attack that took place north of Einbus in Hawara, south of Nablus.
For its part, the Hebrew Channel 12 reported that the perpetrators of the shooting were being pursued. The Israeli occupation army closed the Shavei Shomron checkpoint, northwest of Nablus, in both directions.
Yossi Dagan, head of the Northern West Bank Settlement Council, said: “Unfortunately, this is a very difficult event. The government must change the method and move from defense to offense. It cannot tolerate shooting innocent civilians in broad daylight. The ferocity of terrorism proves that there is no deterrence,” according to what was reported by the Hebrew Channel 12.
And Israeli media confirmed that the perpetrator of the shooting left the place, explaining that the Israeli army declared the Palestinian town of Hawara a closed military zone.
The Jordanian city of Aqaba had hosted a five-year security meeting to discuss the truce in the Palestinian territories before the month of Ramadan next month..
Senior security officials from the Israeli and Palestinian sides will participate in the closed meeting for the first time in many years, with the participation of Brett McGurk, US President Joe Biden’s advisor for the Middle East.
