This year, 94 entries from 22 publishers sought awards in ten categories, with most of the nominations being Sophie’s Choice, Anatomy of Fear, Share of Treatment and Missing Persons, OneHotBook and Timbr. Winners will be announced on May 6th.

Interest in audiobooks is growing every year
Books that Jiří Lábus read, either alone or with fellow actors, include Grandfather’s Great Escape by David Walliams, Tracy’s Tiger by William Saroyan, Harry Potter and The Philosopher’s Stone by Joanne Rowling, The Fables and the Fables by Rudyard Kipling, The Jirots dog or Arabella warmburac.
The audiobook market in the Czech Republic last year showed an annualized increase of 12.4 percent, thus maintaining its upward trend. Due to the closure of traditional stores as a result of the epidemic, sales of physical media decreased by more than 12 percent, but the digital distribution of audiobooks increased.
In total, last year audiobooks and spoken words were sold for more than 230 million crowns. The best-selling title was audiobook Šlachta – Thirty Years Under the Oath of authors Joseph Klima and Robert Šlachta. OneHotBook posted the largest market share last year.
