The Italian automaker has finally introduced the reborn Countach LPI 800-4 model, which will be created as a limited series based on the Aventador with Sián model technology.
For the first time in its history, the automaker Lamborghini has revived the name already in use, and fifty years after its first performance, it is releasing the Countach model. This time, with the designation LPI 800-4 and modern electrified technology, taken from the Sián model.
After all, the Sián also reminds us of some distinctive design features, such as the shapes of the taillights. The roof arch and its transition between the arch and the stern again resemble the Aventador model, on the basis of which the Sián was also created. However, the designers took special care to emphasize the similarities with the original Countach model. respectively with its many versions.
The main inspiration was the clean, simple shapes of the older Countach LP400. The front hood is simply straight in the jury and tapers decently upward. The designers also used a special shape for the headlights and noted at least the original flashes directly above them. At the rear, there are very simple flashlights, four tailpipes and a distinctive painted exhaust.
Looking at it from the side, one cannot fail to notice the giant arrow-shaped holes for air supply, which extend through the door to the fenders. And so the automaker remembers the iconic NACA touches on the side of the original Countach. And of course there are specific folding doors.
However, it wasn’t just the older LP400 Countach that was the inspiration. For example, the curtains behind the door are taken from the original concept of the Countach model. The distinctive perforations behind it come from the LP500 S version for a change. The lower portion of the front bumper should have been inspired by the LP 500 QuattroValvole.
Already after the escape of the first photos, which in the end turned out to be real, a number of critics of the new design responded. However, it is necessary to emphasize that the automaker did not want to create an old car with a new class, but to create a modern homage to the classic icon. A number of specific design elements certainly correspond to this.
In addition, there are often rumors that the new Countach LPI 800-4 could be a farewell to classic Lamborghini models equipped with V12 engines. Under the hood of the 6.5-liter there are twelve atmospheric cylinders, which rotate up to 8500 rpm and provide a maximum output of 573 kW. However, the motor is also powered by a 25 kW electric motor, which is powered by a 48 volt network from a super capacitor.
Combined power for the entire powertrain should be 599 kW (814 hp) and transmitted to all wheels via a seven-speed transmission. Acceleration to 100 km/h should be able to handle the new Countach LPI 800-4 in 2.8 seconds, and in 8.6 seconds it should drive 200 km/h and the top speed should reach 335 km/h.
The interior of the car is a mixture of the interior of Aventador models, from which, for example, the steering wheel and seats come, and Sián, from which the new Countach received the dashboard, door trim or center console. However, the Countach features new air vents, new upholstery, or an 8.4-inch infotainment screen. The Stile button is all-new, which should introduce the vehicle’s philosophy to the driver and front passenger.
The car in the photos was fitted with a red leather interior and was modeled on the personal Countach Ferruccia Lamborghini. However, everyone is interested in choosing from a rich palette of exterior colors, inspired by the original show, and several color combinations for the interior.
The automaker plans to produce a total of 112 units of the Countach LPI 800-4, with pricing as usual. However, according to foreign speculation, it could amount to about one million dollars, that is, about 21.5 million kroner.
