Until now, however, a phrase interpreter was used, which was standard at the time this feature was created. However, the in-browser translator from Seznam is now connected to more modern technologies from Brno’s Lingea. Compared to the phrase translator, according to representatives of the leading Czech Internet company, the output of neural translation is noticeably better and the entire text looks very natural.
It mimics the activity of the human brain
“The difference in the quality of translation processed by current translators who use neural networks that simulate human brain activity is critical compared to older phrase translators. Today’s version is a high-quality assistant that allows you to read a foreign language text fluently. Therefore, I am very pleased with Seznam. cz will make it available to its users,” said Pavel Švejic, CEO of Lingea.
“Thanks to tech innovators like Lingea, we are accustomed to the high quality of machine translation, which we want to deliver to our users as well. This is why we decided to update the browser’s full page translator and turn it into a neural translator,” said Adam Raschka, Product Manager for Seznam. cz Browser.
He speaks Italian now
According to him, in the last year alone, the translator translated more than three and a half million foreign language websites. In the overwhelming majority of cases, the translation was from English, so people often translate the pages of online stores into their native language.
The range of languages in which pages can be translated has also been expanded. English, German, French, Spanish and Russian have been added to Italian.
The new version of the browser is available not only for classic computers, but also for mobile devices running the Android and iOS operating systems. You can download the browser from the menu Here.
