Mercedes-AMG has always been known for its massive power and torque numbers, and it looks like it wouldn’t be any different in the electric times. Why also, when using an electric motor you can achieve amazing numbers more easily than an internal combustion engine.
The latest addition to the Mercedes family with ATS from Affalterbach is the EQE model, which It was shown as standard last year at the Munich Motor Show Directly in two versions – 43 and 53. In both cases, the standard is all-wheel drive, which is achieved by an electric motor on each axle, as well as rotation of the rear wheel, which helps stability at high speeds and agility at low speeds.

Of course, the stronger and weaker versions differ mainly in performance. The AMG EQE 43 4Matic delivers 476 hp and 858 Nm, which is enough to accelerate to 100 in 4.2 seconds if you have at least 50 percent battery charge. The maximum speed is 210 km / h.
The AMG EQE 53 4Matic + handles 626 hp and 950 Nm, and accelerates to 100 in 3.5 seconds with a battery charged at least 70% and a maximum of 220 km / h. If you pay extra for the AMG Dynamic Plus package, the power can be increased to 687 hp for a short time and the torque to 1000 Nm, which will improve acceleration to a hundred in 3.3 seconds. The maximum speed will increase to 240 km / h.
Both versions can handle a charging power of 170 kW.
Performance will increase for a short time because this is the maximum available in race start mode with the boost function turned on. So something like the launch control known from traditional sports cars. Mercedes indicates a value of 626 hp at 100% and that of 687 hp at 110%.
It is interesting that even the listed power is 100% available to the driver only in Sport + and Race Start modes without the Boost function. In all other games, including “naked” sports, 50-90% of performance is available. Not that this is enough, even 50% on slippery surfaces puts the driver under his right foot 238, respectively. 313 horsepower, but nevertheless, we can only hope that there will be an adjustable mode that will allow you to use 100% power and leave the rest of the car in a comfortable position.

In the case of an electric vehicle, a range on a single charge is also necessary, which has decreased compared to the current EQE. With a battery of 90.6 kWh of usable capacity, the AMG EQE 43 manages to cover 462-533 km on a single charge according to the WLTP methodology; For the AMG EQE 53, it is 444-518 km. Both versions can be charged at up to 170 kW, which under ideal conditions – especially the correct battery temperature and low charging – will power up for 180 km in 15 minutes. An 11kW onboard charger is standard AC charging, and you can have 22kW for an additional cost.

Also of note is the navigation function called “electrical intelligence” which determines the route, including charging stations, taking into account the rated power consumed during the flight. In doing so, it takes into account both the terrain and driving speed, as well as the heating or air conditioning requirements inside. And of course, it recalculates everything based on changes in driver requirements or traffic density on the road.
Mercedes also announced a luggage compartment capacity – which is 430 liters – and a gross vehicle weight – 2,525 kg. Dimensions 4964 mm in length, 1906 mm in width and 1492 mm in height; All this data applies to both versions.
The seats are one of the things that make the AMG EQE different from the regular versions.
Of course, the chassis has also been mechanically modified for more rigidity and less cornering. The adjustable adaptive dampers have also been modified and are now more precise than the standard EQE.
Finally, how do EQE AMGs differ from each other and also from Civic EQEs in terms of appearance? Of course it’s a different radiator grille and new bumpers, a rear spoiler or new wheels. It was, of course, a more aggressive look, but without the tax in the form of greater air resistance.
The car is powered by two electric motors, one on the front and one on the rear axle.
The cabin has new seats with a more spacious side guide, a new flat-bottom steering wheel, and of course specific logos and infotainment functions. It can have a screen across the whole dashboard, as the pictures show; However, it is not standard. And there is a special set of synthetic sounds called the “AMG Sound Experience”, which depends on the selected driving mode and adds a bit to the driving experience.
