Milan continued chasing its arch-neighbour, Inter, in the heated struggle between them for the top spot in the Italian Football League, after achieving a precious 3-1 victory over its guest, Roma, today, Thursday, in the 20th stage of the competition.

Milan, seeking to regain the title absent since the 2010/2011 season, rose to 45 points, in second place, one point behind Inter (leader), whose meeting with its host Bologna, which was scheduled for today at the same stage, was postponed.

On the other hand, Roma, who suffered their eighth loss this season, stopped at 32 points in seventh place.

Milan advanced with an early goal through French star Olivier Giroud in the eighth minute from a penalty kick, while Brazilian Junior Messias added the second goal in the 17th minute.

Tammy Abraham ignited the match again, after scoring the goal to reduce the difference for Roma in the 40th minute, before the suffering of the Italian capital team, who played with ten players starting from the 74th minute, doubled, after Dutch defender Rick Karsdorp received a red card, for obtaining a second warning.

Milan took advantage of the numerical shortage in the ranks of its opponent, to fire a bullet of mercy on its hopes of seizing the equalizing point, after the Portuguese Rafael Leao scored the third goal in the 82nd minute.

And things became more difficult for Roma, after he played with nine players, after his player Gianluca Mancini was sent off in the third minute of stoppage time for the second half, after he caused a penalty kick, which was missed by the veteran Swedish star Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
