Mortada Mansour, president of Zamalek club, revealed that next Saturday will witness the end of the crisis of players whose contracts will expire at the end of the current season.

And Mortada Mansour announced two days ago that today, Thursday, from twelve o’clock in the evening to two o’clock in the evening, Cairo time, the date for a meeting with the players who wish to extend their contracts.

The deadline set by Mortada Mansour for the club’s first football team, whose contracts expire at the end of the current season, expired, most notably: Tariq Hamed, Ashraf bin Sharqi, Muhammad Onajem, Muhammad Abu Jabal, Muhammad Ashraf Roqa, Hazem Imam, Omar Al-Saeed and Razak Cissé.

And Mortada Mansour said, in a video broadcast on his official page, that the players who contacted him for the renewal are: “Tariq Hamed – Muhammad Abu Jabal – Ashraf bin Sharqi – Omar Al-Saeed – Hazem Imam.”

Mortada confirmed that the previous quinquennial contacted him by phone, and all of them agreed to the renewal, and he would finish this file next Saturday.

Mortada Mansour added that Tariq Hamed contacted him and asked to postpone the session because he was undergoing rehabilitation at noon, and that he was ready to hold the session this evening, Thursday, to sign the renewal contracts.

He explained that the Moroccan Ashraf Bencharki, the wing of the first football team, assured him that he had not signed for any club, and asked for a deadline to communicate with his brother so that he could set a date with him to arrive in Cairo to attend the renewal session.

And about the new coach, he said: “It will be announced within days after settling on it, and it is a strong name that the fans will be happy with.”

Osama Nabih leads the team temporarily, technically, pending the task of training the white team.

Yesterday, Wednesday, Zamalek managed to make up for its two-goal delay in a 3-2 victory over Future, in the first match of its new and temporary coach, Osama Nabih, in the Egyptian Premier League, today, Wednesday.

Zamalek advanced to third place with 22 points from ten matches, three points behind leaders Al-Ahly, who played nine matches, and one point behind second-placed Pyramids from nine matches as well.

It is noteworthy that the Zamalek club, the holder of the Egyptian Premier League title, announced, last Monday, the departure of its French coach, Patrice Carteron, after his second term, following the termination of the contract between the two parties by mutual consent.

And Zamalek said, in a video clip on its website, showing club president Mortada Mansour, with Carteron next to him, that he separated from the 51-year-old French coach by mutual consent, with two months’ salary given to him.

Mansour said at the time: “We talked with Carteron about some matters and he denied anyone interfering in his work, whether from inside or outside the board of directors. The coach apologized to the fans of Zamalek and completely denied intentionally losing or drawing in the team’s recent matches.

He added: “Carteron respects Zamalek and said he wants to break the contract in a civilized manner so that he can return at any time in the future. In the end, we agreed to terminate the contract by mutual consent, with the coach receiving a month of his salary, in addition to another month, and we will document the matter officially, and I wish him success in the future.”

On the other hand, Carteron said that he was sad for his departure from Zamalek because he wished to lead the team to more titles, and stressed that he refused to resort to the International Federation (FIFA) and get into problems with Zamalek, and preferred to end the matter amicably so that he could return again to lead the team.

This decision came two days after Zamalek lost 3-1 against Moroccan Wydad in Casablanca, in the third round of Group D in the group stage of the African Champions League.
