Portuguese coach Jose Mourinho said that the English soccer team Tottenham is the only one among the teams he has coached, with which he does not feel a close connection.

Mourinho, 60, spent 17 months training Tottenham, but was sacked by club president Daniel Levy in April 2021, just one week before the match that was scheduled against Manchester City in the English Premier League Cup final.

Mourinho previously trained Porto, Chelsea, Inter Milan, Real Madrid, and Manchester United, and is currently training Roma, which led him to crowning the European Conference League, and is currently preparing him for the European League final, where the team meets Seville, Spain, next Wednesday.

“I hope Tottenham fans don’t misunderstand me, but the only club in my career that I don’t have deep feelings for until now is Tottenham,” Mourinho told a news conference.

And he added in the statements published by the British news agency “BA Media”: “Maybe because the stadium was empty, during the Covid period. And perhaps because Mr. Levy did not allow me to win a final match and win a title.”

This came in response from Mourinho, whose name has been associated with the French club Paris Saint-Germain at the present time, to a question about his future with Rome.

Mourinho said: “We will remain linked forever, as is the case with all the teams I coached before, except for Mr. Levy’s club.”

He continued: “This is the only club, but I feel attached to Porto, Chelsea, Inter, Real Madrid and Manchester United.”
