Volkswagen attracts the second generation of the Amarok with design features that are supposed to be close to serial form.
“The expressive design of the front of our pickup truck is underlined by the distinctive expression of the Amarok. It also has a large embossed rear end,” says Jakob Šebesta, Director of Utilities at Volkswagen in the Czech Republic.
The body length of the new Amarok has increased by ten centimeters to 5.35 metres. The increase should be noticeable in width as well.
According to the automaker, it will also be possible to stow a single Euro pallet via the rear wheel arches on the new model’s chassis.
Volkswagen earlier confirmed that the Amarok II will also be available with a six-cylinder diesel engine. Like the predecessor of the update.
It is not yet clear when the novelty will be fully introduced. It will be manufactured at the Silverton plant in South Africa. It will be created in cooperation with Ford, which has already presented its guard on a common platform.
Volkswagen began mass production of the first Amarok in 2010. The name has its origins in the Inuit of North America. Amarok means “wolf” in their language. Over 815,000 cars were sold in twelve years.
