Images of Kodiaq’s next generation camouflaged prototypes are circulating on the Internet. However, this is not the only innovation we will see from Škoda in the coming years.
Although rejuvenated Shame on Kodiak Introduced in the spring of last year, curious photographers have already managed to capture experimental prototypes of a completely new generation. Of course, it’s still too early to get details on the look and technology, because the camouflaged pieces are still hidden under the existing chassis. Kodiaq will continue to be a model associated with the new generation of Tiguan, which should arrive a little earlier. It probably indicates the news that can be expected in the case of the SUV from Mladá Boleslav.
Kodiaq will remain faithful to its internal combustion engines, although we still have to wait a while to find out its specifications. The question remains whether a plug-in hybrid variant will also arrive. Some time ago, Škoda management let you know that the additional drive makes more sense for the Octavia and the Superb. However, in today’s automotive world, where things change without exaggeration from day to day, let’s wait for the official confirmation.
However, the new generation of Kodiaq, which we expect to arrive at the end of next year, is not the only news coming for the brand. Even before the seven-seater SUV, the renewed duo of Kamiq and Scala should be introduced to the world, i.e. models that share the same technical foundation – the MQB A0 platform – as well as the same interior design. A colleague and graphic artist Honza Lušovský decided some time ago to draw for us the resemblance of the two restored specimens. You can see the result in the attached photo gallery.
Until there are not enough premieres in 2023, Škoda is preparing for the premiere of the new generation Superb before its end. Only minimal information is known about it, although test mules are already being driven on roads throughout Europe. Even here, however, internal combustion engines will certainly remain, as well as the option of a plug-in hybrid drive. If you’re asking about the revamped fourth-generation Octavia, according to our information, it should see the light of day during 2024.
Starting with that, a whirlwind of electrical innovations began to brew. Another battery-powered SUV will arrive in a couple of years, it should be a compact car, similar in size to the Karoq. The name has yet to be revealed, but there is intense speculation about the name of the rogue. However, we will have to wait a while for confirmation. By 2026, Škoda will offer two more electric cars – a small urban crossover and, conversely, a large seven-seater SUV based on the concept. Vision 7S.
