The Mauritanian clubs Nouadhibou, the Tunisian Monastir Union and the Moroccan Royal Army qualified for the second round of the Arab Championship, which bears the name King Salman Club Cup 2023.
The number of clubs qualified for the second round of the Arab Championship rose to 7, pending the determination of the final seat between the Saudi youth and the Iraqi Air Force.
Jordan’s youth excelled with a goal without a response to Mauritanian Nouadhibou, which was scored by Salim Obeid in a meeting that was held at Amman International Stadium.
But victory was not enough after the Mauritanian champions won 4-1.
At Mustafa Jannat Stadium in the Tunisian city of Monastir, Al-Ittihad repeated its victory over Fahmane Al-Yamani and qualified for the next round.
The Tunisian Monastiri Union won the first leg 4-0, and in the second leg it won the double of Ziyad Al-Alawi and Ahmed Al-Juffali.
In the last matches of the day, the result of 3-1 in favor of the Libyan Union did not suffice to qualify at the expense of the Royal Moroccan Army.
The Royal Army won the first leg, 4-1, which contributed to its qualification.
The Libyan Al-Ittihad hat-trick was scored by: Abdul Ghafour Mahiri, while Mustafa Sohad scored the goal of the Moroccan team, which secured qualification.
