OnePlus recently joined the MediaTek Dimensity 5G program that offers an open source to design a custom model of the Dimensity 1200 processor to support its mid-range OnePlus Nord 2.
The dedicated processor is launched with the title “Dimensity 1200-AI”, where the title indicates that the processor comes with an upgrade and improvements in artificial intelligence technology, to improve the performance of the camera, and the screen, as well as enhance the rapid response on the screen to support games.
It is also scheduled to support the camera settings with artificial intelligence to realize up to 22 shooting patterns to adjust the camera with the best settings, that these patterns include night mode or shooting in low light, with improvements in the video recording style and enabling HDR technology.
The Dimensity 1200-AI chip also comes with special support for the DOL-HDR sensor that is already used in the OnePlus 9 series of phones, as the sensor supports capturing several exposures at the same time in order to reduce shadows.
