Philip Lapp specializes in the theory and practice of classic and digital photography, photojournalism, visual communication, the transition from traditional to digital images and the new functions of visual materials in the digital environment. He collaborated abroad with New York University in Prague, worked as a freelance photographer, and wrote for cultural magazines and servers.
Is he a co-author of Post-Photography Studies (with Pavel Türk, 2009) and The Twilight of Photojournalism? (with his mother Alina Lapova, 2009) and published other texts of photographic theory.

Philip Lapp lectured at the Institute for Communication and Journalism Studies at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University in Prague. He completed his BA and MA degrees in Journalism and Media Studies from the Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University, and BA and MA degrees in Photography from the Academy of Film and Television Performing Arts in Prague.
He completed his PhD studies in Photography and New Media at FAMU. At the Faculty of Social Sciences, he was the head of the journalism department at the Institute for Communication and Journalism Studies.
