Prima Group and O2 TV have agreed to continue the collaboration. It will be possible to continue watching Prima channels via O2 TV, even in retrospect. By June, O2 is a solution to monitor in-display ad units. The companies announced this in a joint press release on Friday.
A few weeks ago, Prima, as the only television operator, did not agree to new conditions for broadcasting its channels, which limited the replay of advertising in the show. So Prima wanted to remove its channels from the O2 show starting in March, and push the deadline later to the beginning of June. According to O2, the TV imposed unacceptable financial conditions.
“It has always been our goal and will be the satisfaction of viewers. Therefore, we are glad that we were able to agree on new terms of cooperation with O2, retroactive from January 1. O2 TV. In live broadcast, but also retroactively from recording ”, said Prima commercial director Vladimir Buzek .
According to O2 Commercial Director Richard Sebenstich, a bilateral agreement has been reached. “But this isn’t the end of it for us, it’s just the beginning. In the coming months, we have a tough task ahead – we’ll have a new, effective ad unit tracking solution ready by June 1,” he added.
Prima previously stated that it is losing hundreds of millions of CZK in ad revenue due to ad rewinding as part of its software offering function. Competitor Nova has not yet come up with restrictions on advertising rewinding, but in the future it wants to participate in creating a standard for rewinding solutions.
O2 currently broadcasts eight Prima channels namely Prima, CNN Prima News, Prima Cool, Prima Max, Prima Krimi, Prima Love, Prima Zoom and Prima Star, to which a new Prima Show channel will be added soon.
