Prince Charles has called for the restoration of ancient forests in Britain

Prince Charles has called for the restoration of ‘declining’ historic natural habitats in England; The German news agency reports that this happened when his mother unveiled a group of forests and ancient trees dedicated to Queen Elizabeth II during her platinum jubilee.

According to the British news agency PA Media, Prince Charles said these “precious” assets support biodiversity and preserve the raw materials for artisans for future generations.

Among the 70 forests and 70 ancient trees dedicated to the Queen, there are many of the country’s most unique natural resources; Starting with the Boscopal oak tree in Shropshire; It is a descendant of the oak tree that King Charles II hid from Parliamentary forces in 1651, and even 500 acres in Sussex inspired 100 acres of trees in the classic children’s film “Winnie the Pooh”.

Prince Charles’ invitation came in the form of a video recorded under one of the 70 ancient fig trees at Dumfries House in Scotland, the home of the Prince’s Trust, the heir to the British throne. “I think it is absolutely necessary to do everything we can to nurture our historical heritage through careful management, and – like forests – to expand it and connect it with other natural symbols,” he said.
