Prince William owns his father’s house and earns £700,000 from Highgrove

Prince William received Highgrove House, which costs about 345 million pounds, and the prince will receive 700,000 pounds from his father, King Charles III, after the title of the Duchy of Cornwell was transferred to him.

This title passes to the eldest son of the reigning monarch in Britain, and he owns about 130,000 acres of land, including the house of the beloved king known as “Highgrove”, but the prince is not authorized to sell any of the property of the Duchy for his personal interest. But he would collect hundreds of thousands of pounds from his father, who had a lease on the Highgrove house that the duchy had bought in 1980.

The British newspaper The Sun reported that the duchy received a net income of 21 million pounds last year. The king had converted Highgrove into a family home, while at the same time helping to design Cotswold Gardens, which attracts about 30,000 visitors a year. “The King has rented Highgrove House and the surrounding grounds,” a source told The Sun newspaper, which is considered the favorite of King Charles and his wife Camilla. The king relinquished the duchy farm, which grows only organic crops, in preparation for his accession to the throne, and gave up a 20-year lease on Home Farm, which now sells organic crops.

It is expected that King Charles will reduce the living quarters in Buckingham Palace, and not live there all the time, given the presence of the ongoing restoration work there, and its duration of about 10 years, and cost about 369 million pounds.

In 2017, Charles took over management of the Sandringham estate in Norfolk and made major changes to make it fully organic. These changes included creating wild paths, planting boxes for birds, using natural manure, and it is said that King Charles intends to establish the largest organic sheep farm in the country.

Charles owns properties in Scotland, Wales and Romania.
