Gordes is a rocky and most picturesque village in Provence, which was also featured in Ridley Scott’s beautiful Good Vintage due to its charm. Radovan Vitek, the third richest Czech woman, is one of the travelers he captured.
The ruler of empire CPI Property Group acquired a country farm called Les Dilais at the foot of the Gordes more than ten years ago through his company Ciskey in Monaco. In October 2012, he submitted to the authorities a proposal for the reconstruction of a 200-square-meter building.
However, the result, according to the newspaper “Le Provence”, is a “palace” of 1,300 square meters, consisting of two floors and a basement. Nor did Vítek have a building permit for a construction of such a size, which the court in Avignon discussed in March of this year. Rule?
The third richest CzechDescribed in the daily La Provence only as a “Czech billionaire”, he entered into such strong contradiction with local land-use planning that the building had to be demolished by court order. According to Forbes magazine, the value of the property is about twenty million euros, that is, half a billion crowns.
A project of this scale “could not be legalized anymore and was an apparent attempt to get around regulations.” Luberon, on which Gordes is located, is a protected natural area, which, of course, was not played in Vítek cards. Ciskey, like the architectural firm, was fined hundreds of thousands of euros. The building must be demolished within six months.
Years ago, some locals complained about the actions of Vitek, who were bothered by the demolition of parts of the old farm, but also by the inaccessibility of the country road leading through the land or the prison-like fence. The original farm was said to have been rebuilt.
However, according to Le Provence, the penalty for the demolition ordered a delay of 500 euros per day, which may indicate that it may not take place on time. The billionaire himself has not yet commented on the situation.
