Real Madrid pays compensation to one of its players to leave for free!

Real Madrid have agreed to transfer Serbian striker Luka Jovic for free to Fiorentina.

Jovic was supposed to join, on loan in favor of Viola, before the Italian club could obtain Real Madrid’s approval to sign him permanently.

And according to the “Sky Sport Italia” network, Real Madrid agreed to Jovic’s departure to Fiorentina in a free transfer deal, and that he will arrive in Florence this week.

The report added that Jovic will be in Florence next Saturday, and will sign a two-year contract.

Jovic will receive compensation from Real Madrid, while receiving a salary of 2.5 million euros per season in Florence until 2024.

Fiorentina has an option to extend the Serbian striker’s contract for another two years, for 5 million euros per season.

The report indicated that Real Madrid will own 50% of any future sale of Jovic during the first two seasons.

Jovic joined Real Madrid in the summer of 2019, from Eintracht Frankfurt, for 65 million euros, but he failed to prove himself, scoring only 3 goals in 47 games.
