Regragui: Sayes “Saba”…and the dream continues

Walid Regragui, coach of the first Moroccan national football team, praised the performance of Brigadier General Ghanem Sayes and the rest of the national elements in the confrontation with Brazil, after they defeated the “samba dancers” with two goals to one, in the friendly match that was hosted by the Great Stadium in Tangier on Saturday evening.

Rekragui said during the press conference that followed the confrontation: “We entered the match with great focus, as we used to do in the last World Cup, but we were affected by the forced exit of the player Ashraf Hakimi, who gives us balance. We attacked from the start and were good.”

“We have to respect the players very well,” he added. Sometimes people say that this player is finished, and other things like that. Today we saw how Sufyan Boufal shone, as well as the promising Bilal Al-Khanous. We should not criticize a player because he is playing in a specific league because this matter affects the players, as happened to Abdel Samad Al-Zalzouli in the World Cup.

He continued, saying: “There were those who criticized Sais before, after he moved to play in Turkey, but today he was “Seven”. It’s great that we beat Brazil, it feels like a dream. When we were young, we just wanted to face this team, and today we win. We have to be happy with what has been achieved.”

He continued, “As for the African Cup, we certainly aspire to win it, and we will work on that. If the matter is achieved, that will be good, and if it is not achieved, then that is God’s destiny. We have a good attacking right side with the presence of Hakimi, Ziyech and Onahi, we relied on it a lot. But sometimes we are required to diversify.

And he added, “We have a group spirit, and this is the secret of the positive results we are achieving. We saw how Hakimi, Ziyech and all the players play. We have to celebrate these beautiful moments that we share with the people.”

He concluded, “We will play against Peru with the goal of winning, and we will only have half an hour for breakfast. We will work to preserve the pillars, while giving opportunity to other players.”

The Moroccan national team continued its series of performances and positive results, after it defeated the Brazil national team (2-1), in a friendly match that took place on the grounds of the large stadium in Tangiers, under the eyes of thousands of Moroccan fans, who filled the stadium to the end.
