Dubai will host the 72nd International Space Conference next month

The Mohammed bin Rashid Space Center revealed its latest preparations for the launch of the 72nd International Space Conference, which brings together an elite of the most prominent entities in the space sector at the Dubai World Trade Center from 25-29 October 2021.
The conference, organized by the Center in cooperation with the International Space Federation under the slogan “Inspiration, innovation, and discoveries in the service of humanity”, aims to contribute to the progress of humanity and science by strengthening cooperation between countries in the field of space.
It is considered one of the most prominent events related to the space sector in the world, and it brings together officials of international space agencies and institutions from the highest levels under one roof. The UAE is the first Arab country to host this prestigious annual conference, while Dubai was the first city in the region to organize the event over its seven-decade history. The purpose of the conference is to exchange information and ideas and discuss developments and accurate analyzes on emerging strategies and trends in the fields of space research and exploration prospects.
Commenting on the topic, Yousef Hamad Al Shaibani, Director General of the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre, said: “As we approach the launch of the first edition of the International Space Conference hosted by the Arab world, we are excited to host the brightest global minds in the sector in the UAE for learning, exchange of experiences and drawing The features of the future development of the space sector, and delegates and participants who will come to the UAE will have the opportunity to see directly the future capabilities of the country, as well as to learn about ways of joint cooperation in the space sector, which will contribute to its prosperity and strengthening its position in the region.”
For her part, Pascal Ehrenfreund, President of the International Space Federation, said: “The International Space Conference 2021 gives us the opportunity to inspire future generations and shape the future development and expansion of the growing space ecosystem. The conference represents an exceptional opportunity to contribute to innovations that are reshaping the future of space exploration. The dedication we see from all parties will make the 72nd edition of the conference a very important turning point for the space sector as a whole and for the UAE.”
This year’s edition of the conference is distinguished by its diverse program, which includes panel discussions with heads of space agencies, and other panels focusing on issues such as Martian sample return missions, the role of emerging space agencies, small satellites, and the views of the next generation. The comprehensive technical program will also provide a wide range of presentations carefully selected by the Steering Team of the International Space Program Committee of the International Space Federation. The activities of the Global Communication Forum, organized by the International Space Federation, are launched, to bring together actors, policy makers, experts and young professionals in a global dialogue that discusses the present and future of space activities. The conference will host an exhibition highlighting the latest developments in the field of space technology and research, with the participation of a group of the most prominent names in the sector.
It should be noted that the International Space Conference aims mainly at enhancing opportunities for communication between the concerned parties, while the organizers of the event seek to emphasize the need to take advantage of the event’s opportunity to form a package of new alliances and partnerships.
