Dmitry Rogozin, President of Russia’s Cosmos Foundation
The Director of the Russian “Roskosmos” Foundation, Dmitry Rogozin, announced that his country continues to develop cooperation with Kazakhstan in the space field.
In an interview with the press, Rogozin said, “The Russian Federation and Kazakhstan continue to develop joint cooperation in the space sphere, in particular in the framework of the manned space flight program and satellite development programmes.”
He added: “The cooperation between the two countries in the field of space is not limited to the Baikonur Cosmodrome only. There is also a plan to create a tourist complex at the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan.
Rogozin pointed out that “Russian companies also contributed to the development and launch of a group of Kazakh satellites, and there are now two working satellites in orbit around the Earth, Kazsat-2 and Kazsat-3, and these two satellites are managed from ground stations in Kazakhstan that Russian experts contributed to.”
In addition to all of the above, Russia had deployed in two cities in Kazakhstan two stations for monitoring and receiving data from the GLONASS space navigation and positioning system.
