Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Oleg Syromolotov noted that cyber attacks on government institutions in the Kaliningrad region and energy infrastructure in Moscow are being simulated during NATO exercises.
In an interview with the agency, he added,Toss“Al-Akbariya” “planned to target Russia with its offensive capabilities in the United Kingdom information sector, and exercises are conducted on a regular basis under the auspices of NATO, to facilitate model attacks using information and communication technologies on Russian key information infrastructure,” the attacks targeted government institutions in the Kaliningrad region and in Moscow. It also means targeting the energy system.
Commenting on a report by The Times newspaper about the recruitment of Russian-speaking IT experts by the UK’s national cyber security forces, the MP noted that “there is nothing surprising about these efforts”.
He said that London systematically promotes Russophobia on the Internet in order to change the facts about Moscow’s foreign policy in the Western information sector, stressing that the UK strongly encourages the activity of Ukrainian hackers against Russia.
He continued, “Recently the media reported a cyber attack on the UK Postal Service, and without waiting for the results of the investigation, it was linked to Russia. A few days later, London and Kiev held talks on cyberspace, and then Ukraine issued a statement about its plans to attack the Russian post.” “It’s sad to see such a joke justifying immediate vandalism,” he said.
