The Russian national team won the title of the tenth edition of the FIFA Beach Soccer Confederations Cup, on Kite Beach in Umm Suqeim, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, and organized by the Council for the tenth year in a row, in cooperation with the Football Committee Beach International Federation of Football.
The “bear” beat Iran 3-2 in the final, which is the fourth time that the Russian team has won the title, after winning it in 2011, 2012 and 2015, out of 7 finals, and it is the third time that the two teams meet in the final of the tournament, where previously Iran won 3-3 in the 2013 final and the 2018 final with a 4-2 score.
The final match and the coronation ceremony were attended by Saeed Hareb, Secretary-General of the Dubai Sports Council, Major General Abdullah Ali Al Ghaithi, Director of the General Department of Security of Organizations, Facilities and Emergency in Dubai Police, Chairman of the Events Security Committee in Dubai, Nasser Al Rahma, Assistant Secretary-General of the Council, and Ali Omar, Director of the Tournament. And Joan Cusco, president of the FIFA Beach Soccer Committee.
Senegal won the bronze medal, after defeating Portugal in the match for third place, while Japan finished fifth, after beating Spain 5-4, and Paraguay seventh, while our team ranked eighth and last.
Iranian Raminam Hamid won the award for the best goalkeeper, the Spanish Sheki was the top scorer, while the Russian Nikonrov won the award for the best player in the tournament.
Russia managed to advance with a goal in the first half, scored by Nikonrov in the third minute, and in the second half, the “bear” confirmed his superiority with the second goal by the same player after 90 seconds. Second, Mokhtari scored the first goal for Iran, before adding the second, to end the match with a 3-2 victory for Russia.
