The report was published by Al-Ekhbariya channel on its official Twitter page, commenting: “Their justification is that they are the colors of the rainbow.. Arresting stores in Riyadh that sell games that indirectly promote homosexuality..”
It is noteworthy that the Saudi Ministry of Commerce had previously confirmed in a statement issued in December 2021 that “the supervisory teams in all regions of the Kingdom control commercial establishments in the event that goods or products containing logos, writings, colors, images or symbols contrary to common sense and public morals are displayed. “.
The ministry added that it “signs the legally prescribed penalties with the confiscation of the violating products,” stressing that “its supervisory teams continue to perform their tasks to verify the regularity of the business of commercial establishments and their compliance with the regulations.”
It is noteworthy that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia had previously rejected the “identity and sexual orientation” paragraph contained in a draft United Nations resolution on encouraging democratization, considering that what was stated in it “contradicts common sense.”
