Although the design sketch is traditionally exaggerated in terms of curves or wheel dimensions, it gives a fairly clear overview of what the new Skoda Slavia will look like.
It respects the automaker’s design language with the typical radiator grille, which follows the elongated headlights. The shape of the bumper is also important. The inscription instead of the logo should not be missing on the back. The rear sedan looks the most conservative, which is to be expected from the small sedan class in India.
Slavia will be an important part of the Indian strategy of the automaker Mladá Boleslav, which leads the activities of the entire Volkswagen Group here.
It will be introduced later this winter and, like the recently introduced kushaq, will be built on a specially modified MQB-A0-IN modular platform.
The last letters indicate that these are specific rules for Indian cars. According to the automaker, production itself will reach 95 percent in India. The belts will be in Pune, India. Other models of the Volkswagen Group will be derived from the Koshak and the Slavic on the mentioned bases.
The name Slavia refers to the beginnings of the company. In 1895, Václav Laurin and Václav Klement, founders of the company in Mladá Boleslav, began repairing bicycles. Soon, they designed their own bikes, and since 1896 they have successfully sold them under the Slavia brand.
At the same time, this is not the first time in modern history that such a name has been used. In 2020, as Škoda Slavia He unveiled a modified Scala model without a roof, which was designed by students from Mladá Boleslav as a student project for the local school.
