It was already clear when the Volkswagen ID concept was, as life was a harbinger of small electric cars on the modified MEB platform of several Volkswagen Group brands when it was presented at the Munich Motor Show in 2022.
The group has now shared three drawings of the cars on its Twitter account that can be transferred to it. Curiously enough, the closest to the original concept should not be a Volkswagen, but a Škoda and a Cupra.

Skoda in the green photo looks more angular than we are used to. So it looks like the car will carry the new design language that the automaker revealed a few weeks ago. It’s called “Steel Talk” and will be introduced this year.
Other versions of this small electric car will likely look different than we expected. Volkswagen will be much more ID-rounder. Concept life, the Cupra should be based on the Urban Rebel concept and, in contrast, looks more angular with fewer motorsports-inspired elements.

All three cars must be on a shortened version of the MEB platform, titled “Entry”. As we already know from the ID.Life concept presentation, this version should have a front axle drive. The base MEB, which, for example, the VW ID.3 or the Škoda Enyaq iV mount, has either a rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.
Autocar says that these three cars will be the successors to the Volkswagen e-up! and Škoda Citigo-e iv and Seatu Mii Electric. However, the ID.Life concept was somewhere between those miniature triplets and the Volkswagen Polo.

All three cars must be manufactured in Spain from 2025. A factory is being rebuilt in Martorell for this. Volkswagen is also planning to build a giant battery plant in the coastal city of Sagunto.
