From January 2023, ČSOB customers will only confirm online payments in Mobile Banking using the ČSOB Smart Key application. It uses a fingerprint, face recognition or PIN for authorization, which customers can also use to line information.

ČThe SW smart switch can also work in offline mode.

Compared with SMS copying, the ČSOB smart key greatly simplifies the confirmation of payments, and payment in online stores is easier and safer. Payment-related data is transmitted exclusively in encrypted form, which eliminates risks to a minimum, I explained Michaela Power،SOB Board Member responsible for innovation.

However, confirmation via this app will not apply to all online payments. The smart key will not be required to:

  • send online payment in case of low amounts,
  • transfer between private accounts,
  • Payment to trusted recipients specified by the customer himself.

If the bank evaluates the online payment as secure, then there is no need for further verification and we guarantee the security, Bauer said.

In the event of signal failure or lack of data in the mobile phone, it is possible to use the confirmation backup method in the APP. In this case, you need to upload a QR code into the application, with which the application will generate confirmation data, which will then be copied to Internet Banking.

According to the bank, Smart Key now has more than 1 million users. Approximately 81% of customers have tried it in the past six months with mobile banking and internet.

The app is available for free download on Google Play, Apple Store, Huawei App Gallery, or by scanning a QR code.
