Investing.com – U.K. stocks were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the sector weighed on stocks.
At the London close, it lost 1.03%, hitting a 3-month record low.
The stock emerged today among the leading stocks Glencore PLC (LON: ), which was up 2.23% or 9.45 points to end at 432.65. Rather, stocks London Stock Exchange Group plc (LON: ) was up 1.97% or 144.00 points to end at 7,470.00. Fresnillo PLC ( LON: ) was up 1.75% or 12.20 points to trade at 710.00 at the end of the session.
The worst performers of the day’s trade were BT Group plc (LON: ), which declined 6.07% or 8.90 points to trade at 137.75 at the close. Arrow Intermediate Capital Group PLC ( LON: ) shed 5.82% or 71.50 points to 1,156.50 and Tui AG ( LON: ) shed 5.68% or 83.50 points to 1,387.50.
Decliners outnumbered advancers with 1318 compared to 466 on the London Stock Exchange, while 463 were unchanged.
Gold futures for April delivery were up 3.19%, or 61.35%, at $1,984.35 an ounce. In other commodities trading, WTI crude oil futures for April delivery fell 2.30%, or 1.57%, to settle at $66.78 a barrel. Brent crude oil futures for May were down 2.36%, or 1.76%. points, and ended at $72.94 per barrel.
The GBP/USD pair added 0.65% to trade at 1.22 levels, while the EUR/GBP pair was unchanged 0.01% to reach 0.88 levels.
Dollar index futures traded down 0.60% at 103.47.
