Investing.com – United Kingdom stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday.
By the end of trading in London, it had lost 3.89%, hitting its lowest record level in less than a month.
The stock emerged today among the leading stocks United Applications Group plc (LON: ), which was up 0.96% or 10.00 points to end at 1,053.50. Rather, stocks Secro (LON:) was up 0.31% or 2.40 points to end at 782.60. Fresnillo PLC (LON: ) was up 0.14% or 1.00 points at 737.60 at the end of the session.
In terms of weak performance at the end of the day’s trade, the stock closed down Prudential PLC (LON: ) traded down 12.43% or 147.00 points to trade at 1,036.00 at the close. Arrow Glencore PLC (LON: ) was down 10.72% or 49.45 points to 412.00. Barclays Plc ( LON: ) declined 9.09% or 13.82 points to end at 138.24.
The number of falling stocks outnumbered the number of stocks that closed higher in trade with 1512 compared to 370 on the London Stock Exchange, while 420 were unchanged.
Gold futures for April delivery rose 1.00% or 19.20 to settle at $1,930.10 an ounce. In other commodities trading, the WTI crude oil futures contract for April delivery fell 6.11% or 4.36 points to settle at $66.97 a barrel, while the May contract for Brent oil contracts was down 5.64% or 4.37 points. and closed at $73.08 per barrel.
The GBP/USD pair lost 0.97% to trade at the 1.20 level, while the EUR/GBP pair reached the 0.88 level following a 0.70% decline.
Dollar index futures rose 1.26% to 104.51.
