Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – The 69th mission aboard the International Space Station officially began its scientific mission, with the participation of Emirati astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi, who is engaged in the longest space mission in Arab history of 6 months, according to the Emirates News Agency (WAM). ).

And the UAE agency added, “Al-Neyadi and his fellow astronauts are scheduled to conduct, during Mission 69, several experiments related to studying how materials burn in a microgravity environment with the aim of maintaining the safety of the vehicle, testing a tool to monitor the immune system in orbit, and completing work on 3D printing of muscle tissue.” The heart, to monitor the work of the heart in a microgravity environment, to test samples of microorganisms brought from Earth to find out what substances cause pollution of other planets, to conduct experiments on solid fuel combustion, and to study the immune system.

According to (WAM), it is scheduled that Emirati astronaut Hazza Al Mansouri will follow up the details of this mission from the ground control station, where he works to coordinate and complete the tasks of the astronauts on board the station, including developing, managing, and following up on the implementation of mission operations and communication between teams. And making sure that the mission is going well and according to what was scheduled, and Al Mansouri will also be primarily responsible for transferring information between the mission team on the ground and the astronauts.

In addition to Sultan Al Neyadi, the astronaut crew includes Frank Rubio, Dimitri Petilin, Sergey Prokopyev, Stephen Bowen, Warren Hoberg, and Andrei Vidyaev.
