Taylor Swift became the first female artist in history to have all of her songs in the top 10 singles chart.
In doing so, it surpassed fellow American Drake, who previously held the record for the top 9 singles in the top 10 singles chart in September 2021.
Before him, The Beatles held the record for eight top 10 songs in 1964.
Swift’s dominance of the US charts is thanks to her latest album, Midnight, which became the fastest-selling release of 2022.
The pop star tweeted at the event, “10 out of 10 out of 100 releases??? 10th album??? I’m ecstatic.”
The 32-year-old singer topped the list with her single “Andai Hero,” which quickly went viral on the Tik Tok app.
The rest of the list includes songs from her albums Lavender Haze, Maroon, Snow on the Beach, Bejeweled and Karma.
All 13 songs from Swift’s latest release, “Midnight,” are in the top 15 on its regular version, with Sam Smith’s “Unholy” at No. 11, and Steve Lacy’s “Bad Habits” at No. 12.
Its updated version, “Deluxe 3AM,” features seven additional tracks from its latest release, “Midnight,” which charted between numbers 20 and 45.
Swift surprised fans when she announced the new album at the last minute of the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards at the Prudential Center in New Jersey in August.
He described the album as “13 sleepless nights scattered through my life” and “a journey through horror and sweet dreams”.
The record appears to signal the star’s return to the pop songs she was popular for before the pandemic, after 2020 releases of indie folk music Evermore and folkloric songs.
Part of its success was due to a clever marketing campaign that released the album in multiple countable and compilation formats – including four tracks from the vinyl version, creating hour-long units of songs.
But American music magazine Billboard reported that Swift’s takeover of the top 10 chart could only be achieved through views, before accounting for sales and radio play.
Midnight topped the US bestseller charts, selling 1.4 million copies – more than a million on CD and vinyl, a figure almost unheard of in the age of broadcasting.
The album similarly topped the UK Best Selling Albums chart with sales of 204,000 copies, making it the first album to break the 200,000 sales mark since Adele’s Thirty 30 a year earlier.
Amazingly, the figure marks the biggest first-week sales of Swift’s career on the UK’s best-selling albums chart. His best previous record was 1989, which sold 90,300 copies in 2014.
However, its dominance of the US Top 100 singles chart cannot be replicated in the UK due to UK chart rules, which only allow an artist to have three songs in the top 100 at a time.
Without this restriction, Swift would have had eight to 10 singles hits in the UK this week. Instead, he reached number one in the UK Top 10 for his song “Unday Hero”, number three for “Lavender Haze” and number four for “Snow on the Beach”.
And Sam Smith’s last week’s No. 1 song, Unhully, took second place this week, denying Swift the top spot.
Billboard said Swift’s latest album helped her break several records.
Swift now boasts the top 10 list of female artists in history, as Madonna topped the chart with 38 songs, surpassing her total of 40 songs. Among all singers, Swift is followed by Drake, who has 59 artworks in the top 10 charts.
Midnight was the first album in history to hit the top 10 singles.
Swift also broke records for the most viewed albums in a single day on download platforms Spotify, Apple and Amazon Music.
In the UK, it sold 62,000 copies of the album on vinyl alone – the highest weekly sales of any vinyl album in the 21st century.
