Tesla is the second most damaged car today, but electric cars are also harmful to others

Not only is Tesla known for quality, results from next year’s Traditional Vehicle Reliability Study by Consumer Reports magazine confirm. Worse than Tesla is only one brand, but electric models pull the results for everyone.
At the end of each year, the American magazine Consumer Reports (CR) publishes a list of the most reliable and least reliable car manufacturers. For this year as well, it was based on the answers of hundreds of thousands of respondents who have evaluated their experience with cars over the past 12 months. They should have mentioned in particular the problems they had with the cars, although not all of them. Statistics do not affect, for example, repairs after road accidents, as well as corrections in held events. Car owners then not only categorized the related problems into individual categories, but also had to determine the amount of costs or the time the car was in service.
In general, we usually have a very comprehensive rating here, which, however, brings some novelties compared to previous years. On top of the peloton we will again find Asian brands, especially Japanese, nothing changes. But Mazda is extraordinarily high, this time in second place, and third is Toyota’s win mostly. The first is not surprising Lexus. On the contrary, the surprise is the fifth place where Buick made its way. The American brand got such a good rating mainly due to its small wallet, in which it was able to avoid major problems. For Honda’s sixth, the high quality of most models balances the Odyssey and Passport problems.
The decline of the Porsche XIII is quite interesting, it is a manufacturer that usually stands high. The German icon is damaged by both the Macan and the Cayenne, but the CR mainly points to the problems with the Taycan electric car, which people don’t recommend. However, Porsche remains the second best car maker in Europe after the Mini.
After all, electric cars generally harm manufacturers, at least in the context of this reliability assessment. Audi is 15th because of the E-Tron, while Niro sends as Kiu does to 19th. And everything Tesla, who now ranks penultimate 27th, explained, only Lincoln is the worst. Tesla’s problems are indeed legendary, but let’s add that according to CR, it’s mostly about the X and S models, which obviously can’t withstand the ravages of time any better.
But see for yourself the full overall scores for the brands, we’ll be back at some partial aspects of this year’s CR reliability study in the coming days.
