The BA participated in the Conference of the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA), which was held in Dublin, Ireland, under the title “Inspiration, Participation, Empowerment, and Communication”, after two consecutive years of interruption due to the novel coronavirus pandemic.
This year, the Bibliotheca Alexandrina participated in the conference, by presenting many projects, services and programs to serve the audience of researchers and librarians.
The Bibliotheca Alexandrina also cooperated with the International Francophone Association for Library Specialists in a pavilion in the exhibition held on the sidelines of the conference, through which the programs and services provided by the library were marketed in multiple languages, including the Bibliotheca Alexandrina Services for Africa (BAIFA) and the University Diploma in Information and Library Sciences (DUSIB). The Professional Diploma Program for Digital Marketing and E-Learning Services and the Bibliotheca Alexandrina Programs for Professional Development.
The visitors showed great interest in learning about the services of the Library of Alexandria, and the role it plays in order to enable researchers and librarians to access sources of knowledge through the information repositories and databases it provides, in addition to the cultural activities and international festivals that it organizes and hosts at the local and global levels.

The International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions Conference is the most prominent global event in the field of libraries and information, as it is organized annually to bring together thousands of institutions, associations, librarians, major publishing houses and all workers in this sector from all over the world.
– Lecture on “Space Architecture”
In another context, the library will organize a lecture under the title “Space Architecture”, tomorrow, Wednesday, at 3:00 pm, in the delegates’ hall at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina Conference Center.
The lecture will be given by Dr. Samer Al-Sayyari, Assistant Professor of Architecture at Beirut Arab University and one of the pioneers of space engineering in the Middle East, in the presence of a group of officials, thinkers and specialists.
The lecture sheds light on the concept of space architecture and the current and future perspective of space engineering, as well as discussing the mission statement of space engineering on the theories of the practice of design and construction of inhabited environments in outer space, which includes the architectural design of habitats in space as well as areas of work in space, according to the World Space Conference held in Houston 2002 which was organized by members of the aerospace engineering technical subcommittee of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics.
