Jeddah: The Jeddah Yacht Club area kicked off on Sunday as part of the 2022 Jeddah season.

Jetta Marina is located in the sea area and is the first tourist marina in the country and the opening day started with live theatrical performances attended by more than 100 artists.

The entrance to the area offers people an amazing view of the sea and a fleet of luxury boats from around the world.

Visitors can shop at well-known high quality brands, taste delicious food at the best restaurants and cafes, and participate in family water games.

Jeddah Boat Club’s Executive Director Jamal al-Qamdi told Arab News: “As the Boat Club is a direct international port, many boats from around the world participate. During the Jeddah season, we focus on providing fun and entertaining water activities, including boating, water theater, motor. There will be more than 12 different water activities such as boats, sailing exercises, diving experience with sharks and dolphins.

According to Marina Coordinator Ahmed Bajweed, the Jetta Boat Club is considered to be the first sailing school in Saudi Arabia.

He told the Arab News, “Even though we have beautiful sailors, no one knows the idea of ​​sailing here because it is not a common sport in Saudi society.” “We have set up a sailing academy where we have a team of Dutch sailors to give sailing training classes. Many foreign visitors to the club have told me that they have heard a lot about our beautiful and famous Corniche in Jetta and now they are glad to see us.

The club can accommodate more than 100 boats with a length of 135 meters and a depth of 8 meters. It also has a private beach for its members.

Jeddah glowed in the sky with fireworks on the opening day.

The Jeddah Season is part of the Saudi Seasons initiative, launched to enrich the lives of the people of the kingdom and elevate the country as an important global tourist destination.

The initiative aims to highlight culture, entertainment and sports in the country.

Activities will take place in the Jeddah Yacht Club area from May 8 to June 19 from 4:00 pm to 3:00 am.

The nine districts of the Jeddah season will host events related to the historical and cultural aspect of their location and activity.
