Spanish press reports revealed the intention of the Barcelona club to reduce salaries by 50% in the coming period.
The Catalan club is going through many financial crises that it is trying to remedy by making new financial agreements to pump money into its coffers.
According to the newspaper “Mundo Deportivo”, the Blaugrana administration is seeking this matter because of the new contracts that it wants to register next summer.
What do you want Barcelona management?
The Barcelona administration is seeking to reduce the salary bill by 50% for all players, except for those whose contract has been extended in the previous period, such as: Ansu Fati, Pedri and Ronald Araujo, in addition to the leaders, Sergio Busquets, Gerard Pique and Jordi Alba.
And Joan Laporta wants this process, which may anger some names, due to the registration of new deals next summer.
Barcelona will not be able to register any new player on the team’s list, except when his salaries are reduced to a certain limit that allows this.
According to the report, sources within the club have reported that Barcelona has already started discussing the issue with some stakeholders and that in the coming days it will be extended to the rest.
What are the pending deals?
So far, Barcelona is linked to the Bavarian giant striker, Robert Lewandowski, but the news indicates that Bayern Munich has refused to leave the player before the end of his contract.
The Catalan club is also interested in some free deals that can be made, such as Blues defender Andreas Christensen, his colleague Cesar Azpilicueta, and Milan midfielder Franck Kissier.
On the other hand, there are some names expected to leave, such as: Samuel Umtiti, Miralem Pjanic, Memphis Depay and Clement Longlet.
