Former football actor and three-time champion Tomáš Hořava ended his career at the age of 33, iSport.cz recently predicted. Shortly after his announced departure from Victoria Belsen, where he has spent the past eight years, he said this in an interview with MfDNES. The reason is long-term health problems, Hořava suffers from osteoarthritis of the knee of the third degree.
“I’ve had problems all my career. I’ve been playing with pain for years, and under the pills, I’ve had to tie my knee in every training and match. I don’t want to have that pain anymore. It wouldn’t make much sense. It’s limiting me, it’s limiting,” he told Huava. It’s time to finish.”
This week the Brno native ended up in Pilsen after the contract expired. He won titles with Victoria in 2015, 2016 and 2018, with her he won the Czech Super Cup (2015) and played twice in the main group of the Champions League. Last season, in which the Czech national team took fifth place, but they participated in only nine league matches. He scored 14 starts and three goals for the team.
