The funeral of the late artist Suhair Al-Babli is currently being held at the Police Mosque in Sheikh Zayed City.

So far, the funeral was attended by the artist Raja Hussein, the media person Suhair Gouda, the acting captain Ashraf Zaki, the artist Khaled Selim and Reham Abdel Ghafour, the media person Ramy Radwan and the former Minister of Youth and Sports Khaled Abdel Aziz.

It is noteworthy that the artist, Suheir Al-Babli, died on the evening of Sunday, November 21, at the age of 84, after a struggle with illness.

Suhair Helmy Ibrahim al-Babli was born on February 14, 1937 in Damietta Governorate, and she grew up in the city of Mansoura, in Dakahlia Governorate. Her father was a mathematics teacher and headmaster of Mansoura Military Secondary School for Boys, and her mother was a housewife.

Talent appeared to her at an early age, so she joined the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts and the Institute of Music at the same time, which was rejected by her mother, despite the encouragement of her father, who had predicted her from her childhood that she would be a famous artist because she was good at imitating actors.

Suhair Al-Babli has a great artistic balance, diversifying between cinema, theater and television, with more than 100 works. Among her theatrical works are “Raya and Sakina” with Shadia, and “The School of Rioters.” The night of the arrest of Bakiza and Zagloul. Among the television works is the series “The Truth, That Unknown” with Salah Zulfiqar.

Suhair Al-Babli retired from art in 1997 after wearing the hijab, and in 2006 she returned to acting through the series “Qalb Habiba”, to be the last of her artistic works and hide behind him from the public eye, devoted to her worship, science boards, and reading the Qur’an.
