Compared to the previous generation, the WK2 has of course been increased in the trunk by 36 liters to 1068, possibly in a five-seater roof configuration. The wheelbase is 2964 mm (49 mm more) and the length is 4910 mm (79 mm more).

The offer will include an off-road version of the Trailhawk, which has Quadra-Lift air suspension as standard capable of increasing ground clearance up to 28.7 cm. The all-wheel drive system is called Quadra-Drive II and, in addition to the lowering gear, it also offers a self-locking rear differential and the option to disconnect the front anti-yaw bar.

Of course, not all versions get a complex quad bike like this one. The basis is a system called Quadra-Trac I, which is an electronically controlled all-wheel drive without a differential and self-locking axle reducers, but allows the center differential to lock on a scale from 0 to 100%, which is activated depending on whether one of the axles is It has a different speed than the other. The middle gear is called a Quadra-Trac II and technically works like a “number one,” but it has an auxiliary transmission with neutral and reduction gears, which the driver selects with the driver in the cab.

The Selec-Terrain system, which is a mode selector for off-road driving, also helps in this area. In several modes, it modifies the behavior of the four-wheel drive, brakes, chassis, steering, throttle, transmission, stability, and ABS.

The cabin can be equipped very generously. The dashboard basically has two 10.1-inch screens, one shaped like an instrument panel and the other central. There’s also a 10-inch head-up display and a 10.25-inch head-up display for passengers. Display screens can also be installed in the front backrests of the rear passengers, who can watch videos of broadcast services on them.

Standard equipment includes forward collision warning with independent braking that detects pedestrians and cyclists, adaptive cruise control, behind-the-vehicle motion control, active lane steering, blind spot monitoring, or parking sensors. Under the hood, a 3.6-liter Pentastar six-cylinder engine with 298 hp and 348 Nm of torque is standard for all versions. A plug-in hybrid, branded 4xe, is also available for the same variants as well as the lowered Limited model.

It’s essentially the same as the Jeep Wrangler 4xe – it combines a 272hp 2-liter four-cylinder petrol engine with two electric motors with a combined system power of 381hp and 637Nm, and its battery capacity is 17kWh. Standards should be 4.1 l / 100 km.

The plug-in hybrid pulls a trailer up to 2,720kg, the Pentastar is slightly better at 2,812kg and the best towing is an eight-cylinder that can handle a trailer up to 3,265kg – of course depending on the car model.

The Laredo base variant and the Altitude and Limited levels are only available with the mentioned pentastar. The American press release does not talk about the diesel engine under the hood, as well as about the arrival of news in Europe. But at least with the plug-in hybrid, we can make it available in European Jeep stores.
