Now this Official Apple October eventWe’re seeing last-minute rumors buzz around the 2021 MacBook Pro, which marks the first major redesign of Apple’s 2016-generation professional laptops with a Butterfly keyboard.
Various sources indicate that these new devices will feature a boxing chassis design, an HDMI port, an SD card slot, and a SoC designed by the Apple M1X. Moreover, (so far) according to trusted liqueurs Tweet embedThese laptops will also feature a high-quality 1080p webcam.
For years, critics have criticized Apple’s laptop lineup for poor camera quality, from the horrific 480p lens in the 12-inch MacBook to the more regular FaceTime cameras found in current Apple models. Of course, webcams have become absolutely essential in the post-pandemic world.
Apple appears to be addressing these concerns by introducing the M1 iMac earlier this year, which comes with a surprisingly good 1080p FaceTime camera (before the device came out, the only Mac with a fairly good camera was the iMac Pro valued at $5,000 USD.). Now it looks like the MacBook Pro will get a similar update.
In his tweet, Dylan mentioned that the M1X MacBook Pro line will be standard with both 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage at 16in and the new size is 14in. This is similar to the current 16-inch Intel MacBook Pro display.
Although Apple made waves with its first round of silicon last year, the M1 chip had some major weaknesses that made it unsuitable for professional work. More importantly, the chip only supports a maximum of 16GB of RAM and can only be connected to an external monitor. For the M1X generation, these limitations are believed to have been resolved and Apple will offer 32GB of RAM as a built-in option.
Based on the design change, Dylan says the “MacBook Pro” text on the bottom screen edge has been removed in favor of the overall slim bezel design. The screen is a small LED light similar to the 2021 iPod Pro.
