The new coach of Manchester United, Eric Ten Hag, announced his final position on whether Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo should continue inside the Red Devils Castle, during the next season.
“Of course I want Cristiano Ronaldo to stay in Manchester,” Ten Hag told the Dutch newspaper, De Telegraaf.
He continued, “Ronaldo is an important player for Manchester United, which he has shown so far, and I will rely on him greatly in the plan for next season.”
He added, “In Manchester United there are many quality players that we have to make them play as a team, and certainly Ronaldo is one of them.”
It was reported that Ten Hag wanted to rely on young players during the next season, with the big ones, led by Ronaldo, before he denied his desire to leave the Portuguese star.
Eric Ten Hag arrives at Manchester United next Monday, in preparation for officially taking over as coach of the English team.
Ten Hag bid farewell to the fans of Ajax Amsterdam during the past hours, after his departure from the Dutch team, which he managed to lead to the crown of the league title this season.
Ronaldo had made statements praising his new Dutch coach, indicating that things must change the way Ten Hag wanted.
Ronaldo is considered Manchester United’s top scorer this season, as he scored 24 goals during his participation with the Red Devils in all competitions.
