The ET5 is heavily inspired by the larger ET7 model, it’s simply a more compact version. However, the new electric car will now attract only Cx 0.24 with a coefficient of air resistance.
The new product is 4,790 mm long, 1,960 mm wide, 1,499 mm high, with a wheelbase of 2,888 mm. This means it has a slightly larger floor plan than the Tesla Model 3.
Inside, the Tesla resembles a 10.2-inch vertical screen. Tech-savvy Asian customers will be captivated by 4K resolution, virtual reality, or 256 colors of ambient light.
Powered by two electric motors of 150 kW at the front and 210 kW at the rear, which deliver a combined power of 360 kW, 483 hp and 700 Nm of torque. According to the automaker, the ET5 can accelerate to 100 km / h in 4.3 seconds.
In terms of range, according to the Chinese Test Cycle (CLTC), the ET5 can reach more than 550 kilometers with a standard 75 kWh battery, and more than 700 kilometers with 100 kWh. The top version should provide up to 1,000 kilometers on a single charge thanks to a battery with a capacity of 150 kWh. However, Chinese standards are less demanding than the European WLTP regulation.
The new Nio ET5 will arrive in Chinese dealers in September 2022, and will also go on sale in Germany, Norway, the Netherlands, Sweden and Denmark. The automaker confirmed that the car was designed to meet five-star C-NCAP and Euro NCAP safety standards.
