In response to an invitation from the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), the National Space Science Authority participated in the International Conference on Artificial Intelligence, Innovation, Productivity and Skills 2022, and was represented in this participation by His Excellency Dr. Mohamed Ibrahim Al-Asiri, CEO and a number of the authority’s engineers and technicians.
On the authority’s participation in this five-day conference, Dr. Muhammad Al-Asiri said: “The conference, in this year’s edition, brings together technical experts from various fields and policy experts to discuss the rapidly evolving changes in artificial intelligence capabilities and to understand and evaluate their effects on different fields of work, labor markets and societies.”
Al-Asiri added: “Without a doubt, artificial intelligence as one of the sciences of the future has begun to reshape economies and societies all over the world, as it provides new products and services in various fields, including the field of space science. The reliance on artificial intelligence is increasing steadily, and this promises to achieve productivity gains. Improve efficiency and reduce costs. We have all witnessed the role of artificial intelligence and automation at every stage of the fight against COVID-19, from scientific discovery and diagnosis to tracking the impact of the epidemic on societies and supporting learning and remote work. But the adoption of artificial intelligence also raises questions and raises concerns for some, It changes and perhaps speeds up the range of tasks that can be automated, and it changes the way we think and do work.”
Al-Asiri concluded his speech by referring to the close relationship between the various future sciences and their interrelationship with each other, as he said: “Space science depends heavily on a lot of future sciences, and one of the most prominent examples of this is dealing with the huge data provided by satellites daily, which may take years to analyze and extract Its benefits are provided by an army of employees, but artificial intelligence and automation sciences and others have provided great services to the space sector, where data and satellite image analysis has become possible, much easier than before and faster. The participation of the authority in this conference supports its efforts to qualify its members and provide them with the expertise required to keep pace with Rapid changes in the field of advanced sciences.
More than 80 scholars and experts participated in the conference this year, with scientific papers and various studies serving various fields.
