Manama, March 19 (BNA) The National Space Science Authority participated in the Geospatial Intelligence Forum, which was organized by the Geospatial Investigative Defense Foundation, as part of the authority’s efforts to keep pace with the latest global trends and technologies in the field of space science and its applications, including those related to the field of geospatial investigation. The authority’s participation comes based on the invitation it received from the organizer in the United Kingdom for this scientific event.
The forum aimed to shed light on the latest technologies related to sharing geospatial information with different parties, whether they are connected to the same system or not, and in all exceptional cases, including the lack of the Internet.
Dr. Muhammad Ibrahim Al-Asiri, CEO of the authority, indicated that this participation provided an important opportunity for a number of the authority’s employees to get acquainted closely with new technologies that contribute to raising their efficiency and enabling them to develop their skills in a field directly related to their work, which will positively affect the quality of their performance and raise their level. The Authority provides services to various parties.
It is worth noting that the Space Data and Image Analysis Laboratory of the National Space Science Authority is one of the sources of information, space images and geospatial data that can be used to prepare a variety of analytical studies of interest to decision makers in various sectors such as agriculture, environment, disaster management, security and others.
