Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – Princess Sarah bint Mashhoor bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, wife of the Saudi Crown Prince, Prince Mohammed bin Salman, sparked an interaction between activists on social media after announcing plans to launch a “scientific” center for the discovery of science and innovation. It will be opened in 2025 as a non-profit center in the non-profit city of Mohammed bin Salman in Riyadh.
In a statement carried by the initiative’s official website, Princess Sarah said: “The Elmy Center for Science and Innovation Discovery comes to be a national incubator and a beacon of knowledge and creativity for the promising Saudi generation. Therefore, our vision is to provide an inspiring center that nurtures the passion for knowledge of science and technology. And by targeting individuals of all abilities, Elmy seeks to To empower the next generation of thinkers and innovators to meet the aspirations of our bright future.”
The Science and Innovation Discovery Center, according to what was mentioned on the site, has “unique and sustainable urban designs, inspired by the environment and nature of the Kingdom, to encourage emerging generations to be creative, ask questions, consider the challenges facing humanity, and work on innovation for a brighter future, commensurate with capabilities.” Individuals who will enjoy the various facilities in an enjoyable and stimulating environment for visitors and beneficiaries.
The plans state that the Elmi Center “will take visitors on a journey of discovery aimed at enhancing their knowledge about the basic components of our reality – energy, matter, and information – and the principles and processes that explain their interdependence. These concepts will be explored through three themed interactive areas: Our World, Our Selves, and Our Inventions.” The approach taken in each area uses exhibits and programs designed to excite and impress visitors, accompanied by valuable questions that stimulate the visitor’s exploration and innovative analysis. The sustainability goals of the center seek to achieve good health and well-being for individuals and society, clean energy, and the sustainability of cities and communities.”
