London announced its decision to Brussels today in an official response to seven claims brought by the EU alleging the United Kingdom failed to comply with the Northern Ireland Protocol.

The UK hopes that a continued grace period for inspecting goods will create the space it needs to settle a long-running row with Brussels, meaning agricultural products from Britain can continue to be delivered to stores in the north. Ireland without physical checks to ensure they comply with EU standards.
