Due to the current epidemiological situation, it is not possible to register for the courses for the next academic year University of the third era of Polytechnic University of Jihlava (U3V). Starting in autumn, students will continue their education, and their education has been halted after government measures related to the Coronavirus epidemic last March.
There are more than 600 listeners in Jihlava and other cities in the region in which U3V operates (Velké Meziříčí, Třebíč, Pelhřimov and ár nad Sázavou). VŠPJ now offers current and new U3V students an online course on mental health fundamentals or how to maintain mental health.
In the first online U3V course, students will learn the basics of mental health, that is, how to maintain their mental health. The course will include lectures, demos, exercises (such as self-training and visualization) and discussions with lecturer Lucie Poláková. The goal is for students to be able to familiarize themselves with their surroundings, to be able to recognize and cope with stress, unsatisfactory living conditions, and pathological relationships.
The one-semester course will hold seven meetings of two hours each via the ZOOM platform “Participants will always receive an email invitation before the lesson. They click on the link and then follow the lecturer’s instructions,” describes the Rector of the Third Age University, VŠPJ Šárka Venkrbcová. “Sometimes, a camera and a microphone will be required to make the most of all the possibilities of a course. If those interested in a course own a laptop or tablet, they usually already have everything they need,” adds Finkerbkova.
Classes will always take place every Tuesday from 3 PM, and the first lesson will take place April 20. The course fee is CZK 360, and participants will receive payment instructions and other information after completing the application Here.
VŠPJ Third Age University has been open to the general public since March 2005. During that time, nearly 2,000 graduates have already taken its courses. For those interested in studying, U3V offers general, aerobic and non-professional education at the undergraduate level (such as brain training, foreign language courses, work with computers, the creation of pedigree, history, and geography). Citizens of the Czech Republic over the age of 55 who have completed their secondary education can be accepted for study. Graduates receive a certificate of completion, but not an academic degree, and can participate in the graduation ceremony in the university’s auditorium.
