Former US President Donald Trump has repeated his statements that angered Republicans and Democrats the first time, and has now repeated them on the Truth Social website, that he trusts Russian President Vladimir Putin more than US intelligence officials because he complained that he needs lawyers more than the famous mob boss. Al Capone.
He described members of the intelligence community, including the CIA, NSA, FBI and cyber security agencies, as “limited persons”.
In a post on TruthSocial, Trump wrote, “Because of the unprecedented weaponization, targeting, and harassment, I believe I have more lawyers working for me who has caused this crap caused by corrupt law enforcement…than any human being in the history of our country, including even a man.” The late great gangster Alphonse Capone!
He continued, “All of this is being done for political reasons that I lead everyone, Republican and Democrat, by big numbers in the polls… The disinformation specialists are at it again, full time. Fake news is their tool!”
He attacked former FBI officials, including James Comey and Andrew McCabe, and said their actions had led him to trust Putin more than his agencies. Putin, or our “intelligence” low spirits.. My hunch at the time was that we had really bad people like James Comey, McCabe (whose wife was helped by Crooked Hillary while Crooked was under investigation!), Brennan, Peter Strzok (his wife In the agency) and his lover, Lisa Page.. Who would you choose, Putin or these misfits?
The former president was loath to acknowledge the US intelligence agencies’ conclusion that Russia interfered in the 2016 election – apparently on his behalf, or at Hillary Clinton’s expense – throughout his four years in the White House.
Russia’s involvement in the election sparked a years-long, politically damaging investigation into Donald Trump and his inner circle, headed by Special Counsel Robert Mueller of the Justice Department, that ultimately led to the president not being charged with any criminal offenses despite the indictments of others convicted on related charges.
