The UAE women’s cycling team gave the gold for first place in the team race against the clock for a distance of 24.7 km in the third Gulf Games hosted by the State of Kuwait.
The UAE team, consisting of: Safiya Al Sayegh, Sheikha Issa, Zahra Hussein and Huda Hussein, won the gold medal, after recording a time of 37:30.15 minutes, 28 seconds ahead of the Kuwait team, which came in second place, achieving the silver medal. Bahrain is in third place, taking the bronze medal.
The UAE shooter also won the silver medal in the 10m air pistol team competition through the team consisting of: Ahmed Al Amiri, Amin Muthanna, and Muhammad Kamel Al Kaabi.

The victory of our team came after qualifying for the final round that brought it together with the Omani team, which won the gold medal, where the latter finished first with 17 points, 4 points ahead of our team that won 13 points, while the Saudi team won the bronze medal.
The results of the skeet shooting competition within the competitions of the first day resulted in the duo of our shooting team, Seif Bin Fattis, achieving 66 points, and Obaid Dhawi 62 points out of 75.
The UAE’s balance in the tournament rose to 16 colored medals, 4 gold, 7 silver, and 5 bronze in 4 sports, namely athletics, swimming, shooting and cycling.
The athletics medals were the gold medal for Fatima Al Hosani in the discus throw competition, and the bronze medal she added in the shot put.
The “Mother of Games” also achieved gold in the triple jump and silver in the long jump by Latifa Al Kaabi, and the players added the silver in the relay race for a distance of (400×4) by Mahra Abdel Rahim, Fatima Al Balushi, Ruqayyah Al Marzouki, Mira Ghuloom with a time of 4:20.55 minutes, and the players also succeeded. Latifa Al Kaabi Abeer Al Balushi, Fatima Al Balushi and Mahra Abdul Rahim in adding the bronze medal in the (100×4) relay competition. Fatima Al Balushi and Raqia Al Marzooqi added bronze for the 400 meters and 800 meters, respectively, and Wedad Rubari, our national athletics team player, won the bronze by knocking down the hammer with a distance of 40.63 meter.
Saud Al Zaabi, at the end of the men’s athletics competitions, finished fourth in the 1500-meter race, while Mohammed Omar ranked fifth in the hammer throwing competition, after he scored 62.74 meters.
The UAE shooting tally rose during the past few days to 4 silver medals by the shooter Ahmed Al-Amiri in the individual competition for the 10m air pistol, and our team achieved second place in the teams’ competition for “dirt” shooting through the team consisting of Ahmed Yahya, Zaher Al-Ariani, Yahya Al-Muhairi, and Ibrahim Ali’s victory He won the silver medal in the 10m air pistol competition, as well as the last victory in the 10m air pistol team competition.
Swimmer Yousef Al Matrooshi gave the UAE a gold medal in the 200-meter freestyle swimming with a time of 1:52.95 minutes, and Salem Ghaleb added the silver medal in the 200-meter butterfly competition with a time of 2:06.97 minutes.
